World of Warcraft, also known as ‘WoW’ or in some circles simply ‘Warcraft’, is a online massively multiplayer role playing game. It was produced by Blizzard Entertainment and is known to be one of the most massive online games in the world. In 2007 alone, it was estimated that WoW had a following of over 10 million subscribers from all around the world.

By 2008, WoW was estimated to hold 62 percent of the subscription market for massive multiplayer games. WoW is the 4th installment of Warcraft games from Blizzard. It was announced in 2001, but was not released until 2004 during the 10th anniversary of Warcraft’s franchise. Since then, several expansions of the game have been released.

These expansions include Cataclysm, the Wrath of the Lich King, and The Burning Crusade. As far as Massively Multiplayer Online Games (MMOG), World of Warcraft is without a doubt one of the best and it is also the most popular. What makes this game such a hit is the fact that it is not only a recreational vehicle, but it also provides an escape from reality. In addition to those two, the game is also very well made and is very engaging too, much like some of the popular helicopter simulator download games.

Perhaps one of the biggest WoW draws is the fact that it allows players a chance to rise through the ranks. As each player develops his character further, it gains more skills and talents. Players also get to choose side – whether they want to be part of the Alliance or the Horde. It also allows players to communicate with one another and strategize.
