Working Within A Team
Some people prefer to work alone, build on a strategy all by themselves and take on all resposibilities of the entire assignment. This is because they don’t want anyone to meddle within their ideas and thoughts. Most people who tend to work alone sees a group and discussion as a cause of delay. Furthermore, implementation of the procedures and introduction of new things may be very difficult, especially when there are disagreements between the teams or a decision has to be made through constant meetings and brainstorming sessions which might take too much of the time. However, in my case, working within a team has been very rewarding. I admit that I used to love working alone as I see fast results and accomplish tasks in an incredible pacing. But when success comes, I don’t have someone in the office to share the bliss with. Or if I fail, no one consoles me and tells me that everything’s gonna be fine later on. Probably, technical problems like how do i fix my sticky keyboard, how do I arrange excel sheets in this and that way, how do i fix my laptop keyboard or even accessing some files via shared folders. People will always need help and companionship. These are some of the many things that a team can bring us. Also, interactive learning through collaboration, makes a seemingly difficult project look so easy and achievable. There is no wrong or contest to working alone, especially when you value your concentration and time so much. However, stepping outside your skin from time to time and digesting ideas from other people may also be as rewarding.
