The iPhone 3GS is the Most Popular Phone on the Market
The iPhone 3GS is easily the most popular phone on the market. Not only is it still selling faster than any other smartphone around, but it opened to the largest sales number than any other phone in history. It actually managed to sell over a million units in its first weekend of release alone. Could it have sold more? Very likely, except most places that carried the phone ran out. That and many people were smart enough to wait for the commotion to die down.
Despite its popularity and despite being the 3rd generation of what’s proving to be the most successful consumer phone line-up to ever hit the market—for argument sake, this puts Blackberry in the category of a business phone—it’s got some flaws that are being pointed out quite regularly. Now, Apple has had a lot of time to get the iPhone 3GS just right, and the hardware is not much different than the 3G, so why should flaws be forgiven?
The extent of the flaws depends largely on who you listen to and what you’re willing to believe. The big one with the 3GS though, if you are willing to accept what’s being reported in blogs and through the news—who seem to be getting a lot of their information from internet based complaining—is its tendency to overheat. This has been an issue since day one. Okay, it’s been an issue since day two, but still a big issue.
So before buying the iPhone 3GS, it’s important to ask users you know about their experiences.
