Computers are incredibly expensive. It doesn’t matter if you are buying a desktop, a laptop, a PC or a MAC, they are all expensive. There are ways to save on computers though. Your options are to buy used or to buy refurbished. Buying a used computer means just that, someone else has already used it. It isn’t new and someone else may have damaged it before you bought it. The better idea is to buy a factory refurbished computer. This doesn’t mean used.

When you purchase a factory refurbished computer you are still buying a computer no one has used. It can’t be labeled new, however it certainly can not be labeled as used, as no one has used it. What factory refurbished means is that someone bought it and returned it before they used it. This could be for any number of reasons. The most common might mean that once they had the computer in hand they didn’t like how it looked. Maybe the computer was scratched. The software on the computer may not have been compatible with what the user needed it for. So, the person that bought it returned it.

Once returned the manufacturer can no longer sell it as new, however it still isn’t used. So, whatever was wrong with the computer would be fixed, that is of course if anything was wrong. Then the computer can be resold. When it is resold it is resold as factory refurbished. It can not be sold at the same cost as a new computer either as technically it isn’t new.

This is where someone can get a really good deal. A factory refurbished computer goes for a lot less than a new computer, even though it is still in perfectly good working order and no one has really used it. If you are looking for a great deal on a used computer, then your best bet is to look for something refurbished. You can find terrific deals on MacBooks, Notebooks, desktops, etc. No matter what you are looking for you will find it at a better price refurbished. Save yourself the money and get a great computer!
